I am excited to be a Chair Leader for this year's campaign. Please support me as I will go a full work day (May 25th) in a wheelchair, in hopes of highlighting those barriers that some people face in their daily life. Any size donation matters in helping me reach my goal of $500. Thank you!
More about me
I work as a Building Official for the Halifax Regional Municipality. One aspects of my job is to ensure that barrier free access, parking and construction are in place on construction projects. Doing the job I do allows me to see the struggles first hand and the challenges accessibility really is. Spending a day in a wheelchair is a good way for me to truly understand the challenges, and to increase awareness and help educate our community. My hope is that my work place and everyone I know will come out of this with a greater understanding and awareness of the need to ensure barrier free standards are met, and the value and commitment building officials add to our community and province.
